Taylor Russell

Taylor Russell McKenzie, who was born in Vancouver on July 18, 1994, was raised in Toronto and Vancouver. [1][2(two) Russell, who was born to black parents and a white mother, is biracial and grew up primarily with her mother's side of the family. She recalled that growing up she felt unaccepted by her peers because of the colour of her skin. They struggled financially and were constantly in a state of flux, moving their lives 16 times in order to pursue her father's profession. Russell was candid about how despite the difficulties, Russell said that she was always a creative person from the age of a child. She wanted to become an actress and ballet dancer. She also wanted to be an artist. Russell was 18 when she began her first acting class. She saved money from work to buy the car she needed and drove to Los Angeles to audition. As her funds ran out and she returned home, she went back to work until she had enough earnings to audition again. It went on for four consecutive years, until she finally secured her first major television role.
